Did you know that Champaign County happens to be one of several counties in the State of Illinois that implemented a tax cap in the 1980's? 

As a result, for more than 40 years the only way for the SFPD to increase its revenue stream to try to help cover the dramatically increasing costs associated with the upkeep, maintenance and replacement of apparatus, equipment and gear; the training of personnel; and the increased costs associated with responding to emergency calls is through fundraising, grants and through your generous donations.
